Not terrible, but not always universal, and I would look elsewhere if I were you

Bought these glasses few days ago. People left nice reviews for the previous model. I decided to try the newest version. Received today, and 3 minutes later decided to return. I tested them with Sony Bravia 3D TV.Major flaw: flickering. The shutter keeps flickering whenever any infrared decide is used and signal reaches the glasses, e.g. when changing volume on TV or A/V receiver using remotes (tested with three: Pioneer A//V receiver, Sony TV and Logitech Harmony universal remote, all three caused flickering of the image).Minor flaw (might be okay for others): I own standard Sony Active 3D glasses (they are 17-20 dollars more expensive, a bit heavier/bulky too), and wanted to try universal cheaper models... Sony glasses are really nice (although some complain about their weight), glass is not dark, thus there is no change in brightness of the image. With SainSonic, the image is noticeable darker, colors are darker, thus in order to match brightness of Sony glasses, one needs to change video settings of your TV.I will return the glasses, and will buy/test Xpand X103 Universal Active Shutter 3D Glasses. They received good reviews too, and are as pricy as Sony.UPDATE #1: Apparently, after all, it is NOT really universal. I experienced the problems with flickering, and CS SainSonic told me that maybe it is simply not compatible with my TV (Sony Bravia KDL46HX729). So be cautious, test early, and if there is a problem - return quickly. Here is the part from the customer support email: "we are sorry to tell you that [your] glasses can't work with your TV according to what you stated. This model of glasses is supposed to work with your TV according to the information from our supplier. But this issue may be caused by different settings between even the same models of TV. "

Good! They Work with Hitachi LE48W806 too!!!

The work for Hitachi LE48W806 48inch 3D TV. I couldn't find the exact brand and model that came with TV and I needed an extra pair, so I ordered these to try. They work just like the glasses that came with TV. I see some people complains about "blinks on and off" I just purchased these glasses and didn't notice that, I will try to update a few weeks later.

These glasses work great with no real loss of color or contrast to speak of. I would highly recommend them to anyone in the market for some reasonably priced 3D glasses.
